The Divine Push: Why Your Current Struggle is a Compass
By Rachelle Jenkens
What if the struggle you are faced with right now is the Universe trying to pull you in the right direction?
Humans are creatures of habit.
We tend to choose what we know, instead of what is good for us.
We were all wired that way, terrified of change and petrified of the unknown.
And so most of us trot on, hoping and wishing that life unfolds in our favor without changing our course.
But life and change are inextricably interwoven.
Where there is life, there is change.
Change is truly life’s only constant.
The Biology of Resistance
Before I continue, let me be empathetic first.
It makes all the sense that we have become fearful of impending changes.
The fear is rooted in the brain's evolutionary drive to prioritize safety and predictability over uncertainty.
When we’re faced with change of any kind, our amygdala gets activated. This part of our brain is our fear center which perceives change as a potential threat.
When routines are disrupted, the brain's basal ganglia, which manage habits, experience discomfort, creating resistance.
Reinterpreting the "Unwelcome Guest"
However, we are all capable of redirecting our brain and how it processes the information it is fed, in a way that leaves us feeling a lot less fearful and a lot less miserable.
What if we were to interpret (negative) change not as an unwelcome guest in our lives, but as a means for the Universe to try and steer us in the right direction?
What if it is the Universe trying to push us in the direction of our purpose?
The love of our life?
The best job ever?
Love and Pain: The Language of the Universe
You see, what we tend to forget (all day every day), is that we are all souls having a human experience, and that each of us is an intricate part of the whole entire Universe.
No life on Earth has been or will ever be devoid of divine meaning and divine purpose.
And because our lives matter, our choices matter.
Since we now know that our human brain, however intelligent, rational and logical, are not necessarily wired to have us make choices that leave us feeling purposeful, powerful, aligned and loved..
Intervention is certainly necessary.
And if you know that the Universe only has two forms of communication - love & pain, those two words actually end up meaning the exact same thing.
Something to think about right?
You’re being lovingly and divinely guided, always.
